January 2022 – I’m in development on Rabbler with Angela Milton, Niloo-Far Khan, and Anne Wood. Details of sharing TBC.
February 2022 – Debbie Cannon and I will be presenting a scratch from a brand new version of Star Cuddie in the Snapshots event at Manipulate.
February 2022 – Old Bones, the interactive solo show I wrote for Daniel Hird, returns to Manchester and Glasgow.
February/March 2022 – I’m back at Hopscotch for R&D on Ariel Killick’s new bilingual show, Òr Treasure.
March 2022 – I’m returning to Edinburgh Studio Opera to direct Engelbert Humperdinck’s Hansel & Gretel, at Assembly Roxy from 15-19 March.
May 2022 – On 31 May I’m speaking at Creative Edinburgh’s roundtable on access within the arts.
June 2022 – I’m directing the development of Hannah Yahya Hassan’s How to Ride a Bike (and other things Baba taught me) supported by Birds of Paradise.
18 June 2022 – I’m directing Post Coal Prom Queen’s brand new opera, Music for First Contact, on the closing night of Hidden Door.
June – On Tuesday 28th I’m directing Róisín Sheridan-Bryson’s play Every Time We Do This Things Get Worse at Page2Stage Edinburgh’s Pride celebration at Assembly Roxy.
June – On Thursday 30th I’m directing a reading showcasing an extract of Mikey Burnett’s new Scottish adaptation of Pygmalion at the Rose Theatre.
July – I’m directing the next stage of development of Hannah Lavery’s The Unseen Boy for Hopscotch, exploring how we move from the digital version back to liveness.
August – I’m directing Shaul Ezer’s The Masks of Oscar Wilde for Matchmaker Theatre Productions at the Edinburgh Fringe (Greenside @ Riddle’s Court, 5-27 August).
September – I’ll be at An Tober & Mull Theatre for the first residency week as part of my year as an Associate Artist there.
September – On the 23rd I’ll be co-facilitating a schools workshop with Jairus Obayomi at the Caird Hall in Dundee as part of the inaugural Opera Festival Scotland.
September – Old Bones is at the Dundee Fringe on the 25th!
October – On the 18th the Rabbler team will be sharing a work in progress at the Waverley Bar as part of the Scottish International Storytelling Festival.
October – On the 28th I’m chairing a panel on Understanding Scotland’s Witches, also at SISF, with a brilliant set of contributors.
October – Old Bones is at the Edinburgh Horror Festival 27-30 October!
December – My novella, Heaven Burns, will be released as part of Leamington Books’ Novella Express series.

2021
March 2021 – Nasty Women will be published in French by Montreal-based Edition Hashtag.
April 2021 – Edinburgh Studio Opera’s The Remarkable Rocket, featuring direction and some lyrics by me, goes live!
June 2021 – Edinburgh Acting School’s Performance class presents Ellen McLaughlin’s adaptation of Lysistrata, under the direction of the brilliant Flavia D’Avila and with coaching from me.
June/July 2021 – New interactive show Danger DuVall: Space/Time Adventurer gets a pilot outing at with Theatre Sans Accents, with Artistic Director Marion Geoffray in the role of Danger! Supported by YTAS, Imaginate, North Edinbrugh Arts and WHALE Arts.
July/August 2021 – I’m working with Hopscotch Theatre on Hannah Lavery’s The Unseen Child, creating a digital experience for schools.
August 6 2021 – Izzy Gray’s new piece Sea Glass gets a rehearsed reading at Page 2 Stage Edinburgh as part of Army @ the Fringe, with me directing.
24 August 2021 – Edinburgh Literary Salon’s anthology, Lost, Looking & Found, launches, featuring one of my stories about a ghost with an identity crisis. (Yes, I have multiple stories about ghosts having identity crises.)
15 September 2021 – Tarot-inspired one-to-one comic horror experience Meet Your Doom debuts on the opening night of Hidden Door! Catch me if you can for this walkabout performance, with card art by Mark Bolsover.
22 September 2021 – I’ll be appearing in a live panel game show, The Literal Flow Test, at Dock Street Studios in Dundee as part of the Dundee Fringe.
September 2021 – My new radio short will be produced by Birds of Paradise/Perth Theatre and broadcast on EHFM. More details soon!
October 2021 – If you’re on Leith Walk on the 9th/10th, keep an eye out for me at the Leith Police Box where I’ll be doing some personalised storytelling to support Monochrome Maud’s Fortune Series exhibition.
October 2021 – Celebrating the spookiest time of the year with Pitlochry Festival Theatre! Ghost Stories is a trio of new plays inspired by Perthshire folklore, written by me, Martin McCormick and Maryam Hamidi.
November 2021 – 2021 marks 700 years since the death of Dante Alighieri, so Fronteiras Theatre Lab, Dundee University and the Being Human Festival will be teaming up to present A Dead Poet’s Tour of Dundee (or as the project has been nicknamed, DanTay), with text by me.

2020
1 February 2020 – Fronteiras Theatre Lab presents a work in progress sharing of Canto X, my Dante-inspired collaboration with Flavia D’Avila.
3 March 2020 – I’ll be doing some R&D on Screech, a new piece supported by Stellar Quines and Birds of Paradise through Make Do and Mend.
3 – 7 March 2020 – Edinburgh Studio Opera presents Cavalleria Rusticana, which I’ll be directing.
11 – 15 May 2020 – I’ll be doing an online Space/Time residency with Magnetic North.
4 August 2020 – The Den, the micro-opera by Fiona Williams and Christopher Schlechte-Bond that I directed for Opera Harmony, goes live on OperaVision.
October 2020 – I will be doing a digital work-in-progress sharing of Fragmental, the new piece I’m developing with support from Playwrights Studio Scotland and Creative Scotland.
October 2020 – My original short story, Grave, will be broadcast on EHFM.

2019
6 March – A brand new story gets an outing at Bona Fide at The Stand.
6 April – I’ll be opening the In The Works Theatre spoken word showcase with Grave, followed by Stuart Kenny’s Space Gecko Project. Join us at the Project Cafe in Glasgow!
17 May – Jenny Lindsay’s excellent collection This Script launches at the Bongo Club, and I’ll be getting my spoken word on in the accompanying revue.
4 – 13 July 2019 – Old Bones returns to the Buxton Fringe.
2 – 6 August 2019 – Grave goes to the Scottish Poetry Library for three dates only!
4 – 11 August 2019 – Jen directs Jenny Lindsay’s tour de force poetry show, This Script.
31 July – 26 August 2019 – Jen directs Keir McAllister’s brand new dark comedy, Madame George.
On 10 October Jen will be performing the feature spot at Loud Poets: Those Meddling Kids
On 10 & 11 October there will be industry sharings of Lubna Kerr’s Tick Box, on which I’m working as dramaturg. Attendance is by invitation, so if you’re interested in seeing the work in progress please email jen@jenmcgregor.com.
On 30 & 31 October, my new play Eggshells, a corvidious take on the tale of the North Berwick witches, will be presented by the students of Edinburgh Acting School. Join them at the St Bride’s Centre for an unconventional historical horror fix.
From 14 – 16 November Debbie Cannon’s new show, The Remarkable Deliverances of Alice Thornton, will be at the Scottish Storytelling Centre as part of the Being Human Festival. Having worked as dramaturg on Debbie’s excellent Green Knight, I’m thrilled to be working in the same capacity on her latest project.
15 November – I’ll be reading at the Radical Book Fair’s Feminist Horror Night, along with fellow contributors to the Haunted Voices anthology.
19 November – A ten minute scene inspired by Anne-Marie Schwarzenback’s Lyric Novella will be on the bill at In Motion Theatre’s Write Lines event.

2018

25 – 28 May 2018 – Old Bones will be at the Prague Fringe, performed by Daniel Hird.
31 May 2018 – Two gigs in a row at Hidden Door! First up is Poetry as Fuck’s Ferrero Rocher-themed spoken word murder mystery The Ambassador’s Reception, and Interrobang’s The Edinburgh Bible.
2 June 2018 – The debut of my new solo show Star Cuddie, a story of stubbornness and stellar spectra developed with support from Illicit Ink.
18 & 19 June 2018 – Edinburgh Acting School’s Performance Class will present my adaptation of Tartuffe at the Churchill Theatre.
July 2018 – Old Bones goes to Buxton Fringe, appearing at The Green Man Gallery.
August 2018 – HEAVEN BURNS, winner of the ART Award will debut at the Edinburgh Fringe! On at Assembly Roxy from 2 – 26th.
23 October 2018 – Marbles Mag #4 launches at the Scottish Poetry Library, featuring a reading from me.

March 2017, touring – Charioteer Theatre will be taking #SonsOfGod: Vox on tour in Italy.
March 2017 – Jen will be contributing a personal essay on contraception and bodily autonomy to 404 Ink’s first anthology, Nasty Women. She’ll be taking part in a panel discussion at the launch event Waterstones Argyle Street, Glasgow on 6 March.
7 March 2017 – Jen will be reading at Inky Fingers.
13 March 2017 – Prior to the performance of #SonsOfGod at Sala Umberto in Rome, Jen will be taking part in a Meet the Playwright event.
22 March 2017 – Jen will be signing copies of Nasty Women at the Edinburgh launch event at Waterstone’s on Princes Street.
4 April 2017 – Jen will be back at Inky Fingers at Monkey Barrel.
20 April 2017 – Jen will be discussing the concept of the trigger warning with Richard Warden and Hannah McGill at the Dust of Everyday Life conference at the CCA.
13 May 2017 – IberoDocs is screening Pára-me de Repente o Pensamento at the Filmhouse with a panel discussion aftertwards. Jen will be joining the panel.

7 June 2017 – The most bonkers gig of the year so far! Jen will be flyting against Ross McCleary on the subject of the Earth’s roundness/flatness at the Scottish Storytelling Centre.
24 June – Jen will feature in an all-Nasty-Women line-up for Interrobang’s Now Is Not the Time at Biscuit Factory.
7 July 2017 – Flint & Pitch presents Francesca Beard’s How to Survive a Post-Truth Apocalypse, with support from Jen who will be presenting her work in progress, Grave.
28 July – Catch Jen at Biscuit Factory for the Edinburgh launch of Hings, the debut book of superstar in the making Chris McQueer. Hosted by Interrobang, published by 404 Ink, it would be difficult for this event to spoil its audience more.
30 July – There’s a new spoken word night in town and it’s called Wax Lyrical. Come and satisfy your curiosity, Jen will be doing a slot.
12 August – Not the spoken word show but the short story it’s based on! Jen will be reading Grave at Story Shop at the Edinburgh International Book Festival.
17 September 2017 – Caring and Sharing will be part of the lineup for Black Cat Theatre’s The Millennials at Southwark Playhouse
12 October 2017 – An excerpt from current work in progress Second Child will be shared at Imaginate’s Scratch That! event at Summerhall.

24 November 2017 – A spectacularly bonkers collaboration between Interrobang and Poetry as Fuck, set in the Ferrero Rocher Extended Universe: The Ambassador’s Reception.
8 December 2017 – Jen’s adaptation of Miss Julie will be staged at Hofstra University.
17 December 2017 – Jen joins the lineup at Stories & Stovies at the Rose Theatre.

6 March 2016. CCA Glasgow. Jen will be delivering a provocation at the Declaration Festival, inspired by Article 24 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights – the Right to Rest and Leisure.
March 2016, touring. Creepie Stool is off on a tour of the Highlands!
5 April, Inky Fingers @ Traverse Theatre. Jen will be reading… something… at this event hosted by the delightful Elspeth Murray.
April 2016, Charioteer Theatre/Piccolo Teatro di Milano. Commissioned by Italian-Scottish company Charioteer Theatre, #SonsOfGod is an adaptation of Coriolanus, examining the fall of a hero in the midst of a media circus.
7 July 2016 – A 20-minute extract from Unfinished Demon Play, written under Rob Drummond’s guidance for the Playwrights’ Studio Scotland mentoring scheme, will be read at the CCA.
August 2016 – Lost Love will be published in New Writing Scotland 34.
August 2016 – Vox (known in Italy as #SonsOfGod) will open the International Festival Castel dei Mondi in Andria.
8 November 2016, Traverse Theatre – Jen’s new play Volante, developed in collaboration with Fronteiras Theatre Lab, will have a staged reading as part of Hothouse.
6 December 2016 – Come along to Inky Fingers at the Circus Cafe, where Jen will be sharing a Christmas story.
9 December 2016 – Meet Cute will be published in new magazine 404 Ink, launching at the Bongo Club.

2015
04 October 2015, East End Literary Salon. Almost a Meet-Cute, in which a rom-com moment is ruined by crockery and crippling anxiety, will feature on this month’s programme at Hackney Attic.
22 October 2015, SMHAFF Writing Awards. Jen will be reading an extract from Old Woman with Masks, which is on the shortlist.
24 October 2015, Chelsea Theatre, London. Lost Love, a story of a SatNav’s obsessive, unrequited love, will be on the bill at Talos: The Science Fiction Theatre Festival of London.
30 October 2015, Glasgow Women’s Library. Creepie Stool gets another outing!
21 November 2015, Previously… Scotland’s History Festival at the Scottish Storytelling Centre. Specially commissioned by the History Festival, Heaven Burns is a rehearsed reading of a new play about 17th century witchpricker Christian Caddell.
27 – 29 November 2015, Teatro Belli, Rome. Comfort & Joy, a Christmas tragedy, will make its Italian debut at the Trend Festival.
