Jen is a playwright who was born in Dundee and raised in Edinburgh by Glaswegians. She specialises in creating intelligent work with an emotional punch.
Jen currently works transcultural theatre specialists Fronteiras Theatre Lab and with Previously… Scotland’s History Festival. In 2016 she was mentored by Rob Drummond through Playwrights’ Studio Scotland, and in 2017 she was selected for Birds of Paradise’s BOP Artists scheme, supported by the National Theatre of Scotland.
She is a keen armchair historian and retro gamer. Occasionally she ventures outside to feed the squirrels, but mostly she hides out at home because that’s where the tea, books and interwebs are. She is married to Mark, who brings order to her chaos, and they have one fiend-like feline named BeelzeBobby.
Sometimes Jen writes about arts politics and mental health. At other times she forgets she has a blog, usually because she’s knee-deep in research for something.
